Knit together all of Anchorage's favorite paved, multi-use trails in a single 32-mile route that circumnavigates the community - and just happens to resemble the shape of a moose's head, sticking out to the west. Taken together, the Lanie Fleischer Chester Creek Trail, the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail, the Campbell Creek Trail, and the Ship Creek Trail form the 32-mile Moose Loop, an almost-complete urban greenway perfect for long bike rides. With multiple access points all along the route, a walk, run, ski, or bike trip can sample a section of the loop without committing to the entire circuit.

Condition of trail: The majority of the route uses paved, multiuse trails off limits to vehicles. Note that certain sections use sidewalks or paths next to roadways, and may require crossing streets. Use crosswalks and pedestrian signals where needed.

Dogs: Welcome, but must be on a leash.

As with all trails in Alaska, hikers should be prepared, dress in layers, and bring plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen, a map of the area, bear spray, and a well-charged cell phone.
