New Year's Events in Anchorage
After sunset, celebrate New Year’s Eve downtown. The festivities run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Chinook parking lot at 3rd Avenue and E Street. The Anchorage Downtown Partnership organizes the annual celebration, which features live music performances. You can also tune in on your car radio. The fireworks display goes up at 8 p.m.
There are a number of events, VIP receptions, and other festivities to extend the night. The Hotel Captain Cook is the scene of an '80s themed New Years Eve bash, Dave and Busters' shindig gives revelers an extra life. while Williwaw puts the glow on welcoming 2023. There's also still time to check out winter lights at both the Alaska Botanical Garden and the Alaska Zoo.
New Year's Eve in Girdwood
This year Alyeska Resort stays up late with a New Year's Eve Gala, live music, and the Torchlight Ski Parade. Things get going at 5:30 p.m. with a special dinner, followed by music at the Sitzmark, and capped with the skiers and snowboarders of the Torchlight Parade illuminating the slopes followed by fireworks.
