Anchorage International Film Festival

Grab some popcorn. True to the motto, the Anchorage International Film Festival (AIFF) features international and independent films, and they are truly “films worth freezing for.” Alaska’s largest film festival features Alaskan auteurs and introduces new films and filmmakers from around the world to all the creative magic of the Great Land. The silver screen shines when the annual festival returns.

The festival hits screens all over town December 2-11, 2022. This year's festival is all virtual, with passes granting access to all 111 selections, from shorts and documentaries to feature films. Purchase a pass, then enjoy the festival on your own schedule. Anchorage International Film Festival tickets are on sale early in December.

The gala Golden Oosikar Awards (a name which combines the famous film award with a famous portion of walrus anatomy) recognizes the festival’s best feature, documentary, short film, animation and super short. Past AIFF award winners have gone on to win Academy Awards as well as honors at major film festivals.
