"I Do" FAQs

Obtaining an Alaska marriage license is pretty simple, it just takes a little time. Nonresident and resident adults are eligible to apply, and applications must be signed in person at the Anchorage Vital Records Office (or an Alaska courthouse, if outside the city). There is a $60 application fee, and a waiting period of three business days between receipt of the application and issuance of the license. Licenses are valid for three months from the date of issuance. Click here for more information and a marriage license application.

Glacier Glamour

If you’re searching for “something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue,” Anchorage’s ancient aqua-hued glaciers will check at least two of those requirements off the list. The city sits within 50 miles of 60 gorgeous glaciers where the ice sparkles brighter than any diamond, so it’s easy to find the perfect one. Travel by helicopter, snowmobile, boat, or foot, then pop champagne or pose for pictures against a backdrop of wild Alaska beauty.
