Anchorage, Alaska: Just a Flight Away

It’s easier than ever for visitors to travel to Anchorage, with more nonstop flights being added recently. 

• American Airlines will launch seasonal nonstop service between Anchorage (ANC) and Phoenix (PHX) from May 21 to September 8, 2026, using an Airbus A321neo. The schedule features a convenient morning departure from Phoenix and a late-evening return from Anchorage, offering travelers more options to explore Alaska’s wild landscapes or the desert beauty of the Valley of the Sun. This new route strengthens ANC’s role as a key hub for both leisure and business travel.

• Southwest Airlines will launch once-daily service to Anchorage starting in May 2026, connecting the city with Denver and Las Vegas.

• Alaska Airlines nonstop flights to Anchorage include Seattle, Portland, LAX, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Denver, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Minneapolis, Honolulu, and Chicago as well as returning routes for 2025 nonstop service from San Diego and JFK in New York.

• WestJet Airlines launched service between Anchorage and Calgary starting in June 2025. Operating twice weekly through early September.

• Hawaiian Airlines is new to Anchorage, adding wide-body jet service between Seattle and Anchorage twice daily, beginning June 12, 2025.

• United Airlines offers a nonstop flight from Washington, D.C., as well as Houston, Chicago, San Francisco and Newark for summer 2025. They also fly year-round between Anchorage and Denver.

• Delta Air Lines adds service between Anchorage and Los Angeles, and will resume a direct flight from Detroit to Anchorage, boosting it to daily service for the summer beginning May 23, 2025.

• Condor Airlines increased frequency for summer 2025 from three flights per week to four between Anchorage and Frankfurt, Germany. Flights run May 17 for summer 2025.
