Explore this easy, 0.8-mile loop trail near Eagle River, just north of Anchorage. An all-season trail, the Rodak Nature Loop Trail is a family-friendly trail near the Eagle River Nature Center. See views of the Chugach Mountains and look for salmon and beavers on the viewing deck. Moose, bears, migratory birds, and bald eagles are also spotted in this area. Great for winter sports like cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
Dogs: Welcome, must be on a leash.
Parking: All Chugach State Park trails require a day-use parking pass or parking decal.
As with all trails in Alaska, hikers should be prepared, dress in layers, and bring plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen, a map of the area, bear spray, and a well-charged cell phone.
