Explore this  2.7-mile loop trail near Eagle River, just north of Anchorage. Mount Baldy Trail is considered a moderately challenging route and is a very popular area for hiking, snowshoeing, and running. Enjoy a more leisurely hike up Baldy by following the switchbacks or get an endorphin rush and take the trail straight up to the peak. Once you are above the plant growth, the trail starts to climb moderately through somewhat rocky terrain. The view from the top of Mt Baldy and along the trail is of Eagle River and Knik Arm.

Dogs: Welcome, must be on a leash.

Parking: All Chugach State Park trails require a day-use parking pass or parking decal.

As with all trails in Alaska, hikers should be prepared, dress in layers, and bring plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen, a map of the area, bear spray, and a well-charged cell phone.
