Discover this 6.3-mile city trail. This easy route runs along Chester Creek past dense greenbelts, community parks, sprawling neighborhoods, and busy commercial areas. Great for children, or those with disabilities as most of it is paved and there are several access points along the route. The trail is popular trail for running and road biking in the summer and cross-country skiing and fat biking in the winter. A great trail for exploring many of Anchorage's parks.
The Lanie Fleischer Chester Creek Trail is part of Anchorage’s Moose Loop route, connecting the Campbell Creek Trail, the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail, and the Ship Creek Trail to form a 32-mile loop tracing the profile of a moose over the Anchorage Bowl. Take the Moose Loop Trail Challenge.
Dogs: Welcome on a leash.
As with all trails in Alaska, hikers should be prepared, dress in layers, and bring plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen, a map of the area, bear spray, and a well-charged cell phone.
