Discover this Chugach State Park loop trail. This 1.5-mile trail can be accessed from the Glen Alps Trailhead, just above Hillside in Anchorage. The loop starts out easy with a bit of a steep incline for about a half mile. It can take about 45 minutes to complete. You may encounter some snow depending on the time of the year and can sometimes see moose along the way. As the name implies, this is also a great trail for blueberry picking in the fall. This is a popular route for those in town for a day, looking for a quick hike, or planning a day trip exploring Chugach State Park and other nearby trails.
Dogs: Welcome, on a leash.
Parking: All Chugach State Park trails require a day-use parking pass or parking decal.
As with all trails in Alaska, hikers should be prepared, dress in layers, and bring plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen, a map of the area, bear spray, and a well-charged cell phone.
