Many Anchorage galleries, restaurants, cafes, and other shops feature the work of a different local artist on the first Friday of each month. Hosts stage special receptions on the evening of First Friday – typically from 5 to 9 p.m. – extending their hours, hosting performers or providing light refreshments. Often, these receptions also provide an opportunity to meet the artists.
