Alaska Trail Guides now offers a heli-biking tour to Knik Glacier with included transportation from Anchorage to Knik River Lodge. The tour includes a helicopter flight over the Chugach Mountains to the face of the glacier, where participants hop on studded fat-tire bikes and pedal across frozen rivers and lakes.

Alaska Photo Treks now offers the Alaska Nightscapes tour. This tour our commences at the end of nautical twilight and takes guests on a journey through the photographic night life of Anchorage and surrounding scenic areas. Photo opportunities range from landscapes and statues to mountains and the night sky. Not a northern lights tour, but another opportunity to enjoy the off-summer nights in the Anchorage area.

After last year's successful inaugural run, the Alaska Botanical Garden continues their annual Holiday Lights in the Garden, where visitors can enjoy the garden with lights, live music, hot drinks and more on Wednesdays through Saturdays this winter.

Arctic Valley Ski Area saw a huge demand for their tube park last year, and will expand tube park hours Wednesday through Sunday.

Ascending Path now offers daily snowshoeing tours in Girdwood. The naturalist-guided tour points out and discusses flora and fauna and how it changes from season to season. Participants also learn about animal tracks, traditional and contemporary uses for plants, bird songs and other animal behaviors, Alaska Native culture, and Alaska history. Participants might even see a moose. 

Lazy Otter Charters continues to run in fall and winter, booking day cruises out of Whittier. Lazy Otter sails on select days, rather than waiting for a minimum number of passengers to book. They'll continue to offer cruises until October 31 and will resume February 15 with limited days of the week available for booking.

After their first summer season in operation, Hike Alaska added winter tours. With newly acquired winter clothing and snowshoes, Hike Alaska ready to outfit participants for winter hikes.

Salmon Berry Travel and Tours adjusted their Mountains & Musk Ox tour, which now includes a stop at Government Peak Chalet, rather than Independence Mine as before. With a stop at the chalet, participants have an opportunity for a guided hike, fat-tire bike rental, and a campfire complete with s'mores.
