Anchorage's Wildbirch Hotel is one of just a handful of U.S. hotels to make the cut for Travel + Leisure's It list of new hotels for 2026. Writer Jen Murphy visited the property recently.
"Nothing about the property feels cookie-cutter," writes Murphy. "Headboards carved with topographical maps pinpointing the summit of Denali and whimsical art by local muralist Ted Kim give the 252 rooms a distinctly Alaskan feel."
The writeup also notes the hotel's easy access to the outdoors, including the Coastal Trail and Chugach State Park.
