June typically sees a significant seasonal upswing in performance for Anchorage hotels, and 2022 proved no exception. Anchorage saw a continuation of gains year over year, sustaining growth compared even to the relatively strong returns of summer 2021. Hotel revenue for the month topped $54.5 million, an all-time high for any single month. ADR was up 35% compared to last year. Rate has seen significant increases worldwide in the past year, and Anchorage is no exception with rates for June averaging $250.
Demand improved 4% compared to June 2021, showing added demand this year on top of the already strong bounce back during last summer. While many U.S. destinations are seeing high occupancy, Anchorage now regularly ranks among a small handful of places averaging 80% occupancy or higher in some recent weeks.
