Anchorage got a couple mentions in a recent Washington Post article about travel planning for summer 2021 and changing desires for travel post-pandemic. Anchorage was called out as a destination on the rise as traveler's stick to domestic adventures and seek out "outdoorsy destinations." Anchorage was among the most-searched for destinations on the travel app Hopper.

"'Summer in Alaska is probably the nicest time to travel to Alaska, but it’s also doing a great job with its vaccination rollout,' [Hopper economist Adit] Damodaran says. 'Some travelers might be expecting that the situation in Alaska will be really good by summer 2021.' The state also just dropped its testing requirement for visitors."
