Anchorage Opera announced the official launch of a completely new website. The redesigned, mobile-friendly site boasts a new look, a clean, modern aesthetic and engaging content in perfect alignment with the evolving identity of the company since General Director Reed W. Smith, took the helm one year ago.

"Integration into our community on every level has been a high priority for us from day one", stated Smith. "We want each encounter with Anchorage Opera to be fun and accessible, whether attending a dazzling full production at the PAC, experiencing a FLASH MOBpera happening when you least expect it around town, or logging on to anchorageopera.org."

The new site's responsive design ensures an equally functional experience on any device with direct links to ticketing and to AO's social media platforms of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest.

"The site was built to be incredibly flexible and dynamic content friendly, allowing it to evolve with the needs our patrons." Smith added, "This 'phase one' launch serves users immediately while we continue to develop the site expanding and improving on content." He expressed his thanks to the team at Element Agency in Anchorage: Carolyn Kinneen, president, David Glenn Taylor, creative director, Brit Szymoniak, strategic marketing director and Natalie Osborne, web designer, for an inspiring collaboration with AO.

"We're extremely proud of the new site and feel our teamwork has made it a place people will want to visit, and visit regularly, to get to know Anchorage Opera better", exclaimed Smith.

Anchorage Opera also announced two exciting new event series included in their 2015-16 "Passport to Passion" Season. For "Take One!" AO joins forces with Alaska Public Media to present a behind-the-scenes preview of each main stage show and its cast at the studio in Alaska Public Media's broadcast center, complete with musical excerpts, panel discussions, Q&A from the audience and a reception with the artists. "The Olive Pit" series invites guests onstage and on the set of each main stage production at the PAC for a unique evening of cocktails, catered fare, entertainment and a chance to step into the musician's world for a special orchestra pit 'tour & talk' with the maestro. "Take One! - Carmen" is Sunday, Oct. 11, at Alaska Public Media's broadcast center from 2 - 4:30 p.m. "The Olive Pit - Carmen" is Thursday, Oct. 22, at the Discovery Theatre from 7 - 9 p.m. Details on Anchorage Opera events, ticketing and news can be found at www.anchorageopera.org.
