Overview
Perennial gardens, nature trails, gift shop. Peonies, rock garden, herb garden, gift shop, wildlife, Garden Fair, Docent tours daily 1 pm or by appointment. The Alaska Botanical Garden features northern horticulture in cultivated gardens throughout a 110 acre spruce and birch woodland. With 1,100+ species of hardy perennials, and 150 native plant species, the Alaska Botanical Garden is a wonderful place to experience the sub-arctic growing season, and to learn about flora native to Southcentral Alaska. The Garden’s Lowenfels Family Nature Trail offers an interpretive walk through boreal forest. Wildlife is abundant; you may even glimpse a moose or bear. The Garden is a great place for bird watching, walking, hiking, photography, or painting. In the Summer, we offer guided tours daily at 1 pm or by appointment. Our Gift Shop is open May – October.
