The Alaska Botanical Garden features northern horticulture in cultivated gardens throughout a 110 acre spruce and birch woodland. With 1,100+ species of hardy perennials, and 150 native plant species, the Alaska Botanical Garden is a wonderful place to experience the sub-arctic growing season, and to learn about flora native to Southcentral Alaska. Features include a Gold Medal Peony collection, Rock Garden, Herb Garden, Wildflower Trail. The Garden’s Lowenfels Family Nature Trail offers an interpretive walk through boreal forest. Wildlife is abundant; glimpse a moose or bear. The Garden is a great place for bird watching, walking, photography, or painting. Guided tours daily at 1 pm (Summer) or by appointment.
