A Cozy Winter Day in Anchorage

This is the ideal winter itinerary for a day off the slopes. Take a horse-drawn sleigh ride or cross-country ski on Anchorage's award-winning trail system and then enjoy a quiet afternoon browsing shops and art galleries before a night on the town!

DAY 1: WARM UP WITH EXPLORATION

Morning

Start with a rib-sticking retro breakfast at a local diner then slap down skis at Kincaid Park and glide around 31 miles (50 kilometers) of winter wonderland groomed for cross-country skiing. Be sure to yield to moose.

Afternoon

Pristine white snow may be a skier’s favorite color, but there’s a riot of vibrant colors inside Anchorage art galleries and gift shops. Explore boutiques and gallery walls filled with wild colors, original works and Alaska flair.

Evening

Dine in style at an elegant bistro, but don’t linger too long. Catch a play at an intimate theater, or watch talented traveling thespians bringing the best of Broadway to Alaska!
