For more than 35 years Visit Anchorage has marketed Anchorage as a must-experience destination to potential visitors from all over the world. Although our name has changed, or focus remains the same, and more than one million travelers are expected in Anchorage this year. In the past five years visitors generated more than $33 million in lodging taxes for the Municipality of Anchorage’s general fund. These funds help pay for road repair, park maintenance, police protection and other services we enjoy as residents. From dry cleaners to taxi drivers and potato farmers – we all benefit from visitors.
