What Our Adventurers Say!

I had the best time hiking with Alyeska Outdoor Adventures!  I knew that I wanted to do some hiking while visiting Alaska (the Last Frontier), but didn’t know the area well enough to do it on my own.  I knew the hikes in Alaska would be amazing, and the Winner Creek Trail was no disappointment.  The trail itself was relatively easy and the sites were amazing.  Spruce, Birch and Aspen trees lined the trails as well as a huge variety of ferns.  Not to mention, the two bald eagles and moose that I saw along the way.  The trail ends at a raging river.  If you’re brave enough, you can cross the river on a hand tram which I found to be frightfully fun!  I definitely recommend this hike with the Alyeska Outdoor Adventures group.  This by far was my best day that I had while visiting Alaska.

Winner Creek Trail has become my favorite hike in Alaska.  It is an easy, well maintained trail that weaves 3 miles through America’s northernmost rain forest.  This hike offers a lot more than just your standard walk through the woods.  Not only is it abundant with beautiful scenery, but there are boardwalks, a bridge over Winner Creek Gorge where you can take side trails down to the waters edge, a little farther down the trail you’ll come to the super exciting hand tram that you use to cross over Glacier Creek, which is more than a hundred feet below.  There are plenty of photo opportunities and resting spots along the way where you can sit and take in the views and fresh air.  I highly recommend this hike if you ever find yourself in the Anchorage vicinity.

My family and I went on a hike with AOA.  They were super fun and accommodating for everyone!  Our ages ranged from 18 months – 55 and everyone had a great time!

My wife and I went on a wonderful hike along a gorgeous trail near Anchorage.  These guys were great! Fun tour guides that pointed out interesting factoids first along the spectacular drive there, and then as we headed down the relatively easy trail along a rocky gorge, over a bridge with sparkling, rushing water.  We ended up at the hand tram over the Glacier Creek – super fun!  We relaxed on the other side and had a nice lunch.  These guys are great company, very knowledgeable, and also made us feel totally safe and taken care of.  Highly recommended!

I had the best time hiking with Jonas and Celeste. I knew that I wanted to do some hiking while visiting Alaska (the Last Frontier), but didn’t know the area well enough to do it on my own. Spruce, Birch and Aspen trees lined the trails as well as a huge variety of ferns. Not to mention, the two bald eagles and moose that I saw along the way. I typically like to hike alone, but couldn’t have asked for better company than Jonas and Celeste. They kept me laughing and pointed out interesting things that I would have missed if I were by myself. The trail ends at a raging River. If you’re brave enough, you can cross the river on a hand tram which I found to be frightfully fun! I definitely recommend this hike with the Ayeska hiking Adventures group.
