Health & Safety

Anchorage knows the importance of public health and community wellbeing — and the city continues to take a variety of precautionary measures as it navigates the COVID-19 pandemic. These heightened sanitation procedures, new physical distancing protocols, and a citywide mask advisory can help keep meetings safe and secure for planners and attendees alike.

Facility Sanitation

Anchorage convention centers, hotels, and meeting facilities are protected by state-of-the-art sanitation protocols. The Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center and Egan Convention Center both use VenueShield, an industry-leading set of cleaning and safety procedures. Major hotels have rolled out enhanced health measures: Hilton’s CleanStay program, Marriot’s Commitment to Clean, and others. Highlights include more frequent surface disinfection, sanitation stations for guests, and new cleaning tools like electrostatic sprayers and ultraviolet light technology.

Physical Distancing

New facility layouts leave plenty of space for meeting attendees to get work done while keeping a safe distance. Events feature individual food service and private table options, and convention centers’ flexible meeting space can be expanded to give your guests some extra breathing room.

Community Masks

Face masks may be recommended or required by Anchorage businesses or attractions, protecting residents and visitors and giving everyone an added measure of confidence when attending in-person meetings. Learn more.

Healthy Anchorage

Many businesses demonstrate their commitment to guest wellness with the Healthy Anchorage Pledge. This pledge assures visitors that local businesses are implementing best practices from the CDC and other health authorities. Look for the Healthy Anchorage logo for an extra level of reassurance while planning a gathering and sourcing vendors in Anchorage.
