Turning Heads Kennel
We provide unforgettable hands-on dog sledding experiences in Seward, Alaska. We have multiple top 20 finishes in the Iditarod, a 1000 mile long endurance sled dog race in Alaska, as well as numerous awards for excellent dog care. Our tours are small and interactive. Our Summer Kennel Tour & Ride is a unique lead dog demonstration training exercise. Join us while we train our Iditarod team and learn all about how we teach our lead dogs commands and help us as we train new lead dogs. This is a one-of-a-kind dog sled tour that you won't find anywhere else in Alaska. We don't have lollipop loops where you mush out and back on a set trail: our trails are woven and interconnected with each tour being different than the last. This requires our dogs to have their full attention and to treat each tour like a training exercise. Because of this, all our tours are led by Iditarod mushers with their own dogs; we can't hire guides for this tour because what our dogs do is too technical for someone to just jump on. See and appreciate the bond that mushers share with their dogs in this unique summer mushing experience! After your dog sled ride, go into our dog yard where you can meet and pet our pooches. See our unique training set up, cuddle huskies by a warm fire, and learn how we care for our dogs while we race. This tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes and is suitable for all ages. Our Summer Glacier Dog Sledding tour departs from the Seward Airport. Enjoy a 15 minute scenic helicopter flight and go on a snowy dog sled ride. This tour is an iconic Alaskan excursion that provides breathtaking views, summer snow and dog sledding; a unique summer experience that is a culmination of everything Alaska and appropriate for all ages. We offer a variety of Winter Dog Sled Tours ranging from 1 hour to an overnight expedition--our winter dog sled tours can't be beat! Get outfitted with cold weather parkas and enjoy an amazing dog sled tour with unbeatable views!
