Summer Sled Dog Adventure
This unforgettable Alaskan experience starts with an 8 mile scenic mountain ride up the historical Iditarod trail in an open air 6x6 Pinzgauer. Along the way your guide will share the rich gold mining history of the area. Stunning views and 7000’ mountain peaks surround you. At Girdwood Mushing Company’s kennel you will meet 6 time Iditarod musher Nick Petit and his 4 legged athletes. Hear Nick’s stories, and then hop aboard a sled dog cart and let his Alaskan huskies take you on a ride, mushing in one of the most scenic spots in Alaska. See, hear, and feel the strength, energy and passion that these dogs have for pulling and running. Visit the Puppy Petting Pavilion, and cuddle the puppies. Check out Nick’s Iditarod memorabilia, trophies, historical dog sleds, and artifacts commemorating “The Last Great Race”. This is a highly personalized 2 in 1 tour, designed to include more hands on time with the sled dogs and puppies. Come for a ride! $148 adults / $98 children (5-12). 2.5 hours.
