Seward Helicopter Tours
Our Glacier Dog Sledding Tour has been described by our guests as "life changing" because it is so incredibly awesome! We love this tour because so many guests return saying that this tour is the "highlight" of their Alaskan vacation. Take an amazing 15 minute scenic flight to beautiful Godwin Glacier where a guide and team of sled dogs waits to take you mushing in the snow. This spectacular summer mushing excursion crosses three things off your bucket list: flightseeing, dog sledding and landing on a glacier! For this tour you'll arrive at the Seward Airport where we outfit you in the proper gear and after an introduction to helicopter safety, it's time to get on board the helicopters. Our helicopters seat three passengers plus a pilot and we have multiple helicopters on site; this means everyone in your group will get a window seat during their flight! Our pilots are well seasoned in Alaskan flight conditions. Be on the look out for bears, moose, whales and sea otters as we make our way towards Godwin Glacier. Godwin Glacier is absolutely stunning and our flight will take you over the entirety of the glacier. Our glacier dog sledding camp is located in the accumulation zone of Godwin Glacier where there is an abundance of snow. Our camp is at 3700' elevation and home to the 30 sled dogs who race and train in the 1,000 mile long Iditarod sled dog race. Our sleds can accommodate 3 and 4 guests plus our guides. This excursion is great for adventurers of all ages! We will give you a crash course in how to dog sled before hitting the trail with your guide. We'll make a few stops to take photographs while we're on the trail and you'll mush for about 30 minutes with your guide before heading back to camp. There will be more opportunities for photos back at camp, and then top it all off by meeting the youngest members of our team: the puppies! Hold and snuggle our husky pups as the cherry on top at the end of your 90 minute tour--about 60 minutes total on the glacier.
