Rasmuson Foundation promotes a better life for Alaskans. It is Alaska’s largest private grantmaker. Its primary program areas include arts and culture, education, healthcare, housing, and social services. Since 1955, the Foundation has helped improve the quality of life in virtually every community in Alaska. It plays a critical role in fostering philanthropy statewide, and forges relationships between Alaska nonprofits and other regional and national funders. The foundation awarded more than 250 grants directly last year. Another 200-plus additional grants were awarded through partners. Investments average $25 million a year.
