Anchorage Museum

Alaska's largest museum, the Anchorage Museum tells the real story of the North. The twisting story, the unsuspected story, the many-faceted story- a story that weaves together social, political, cultural, scientific, historic and artistic threads. Explore the full diversity of Alaska Native cultures, including masterworks of Alaska Native art and design from the collections of the Smithsonian Institution. A hands-on science discovery center features marine life tanks, a planetarium and more. Summer hours: 9 a.m. to 6: p.m. daily, May 1 through Sept. 30. Winter hours 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, noon to 6 p.m. Sundays, and closed Mondays Oct. 1 through April 30. The Anchorage Museum Store named among the world's 10 best by Conde Nast Traveler. On-site full-service restaurant and coffee bar.
