Docent tour information online and by appointment. Beautifully cultivated gardens woven through a 110 acre spruce and birch forest. With more than 1,100 species of hardy perennials and 150 native plant species, ABG is a wonderful place to experience Alaska’s growing season. The Garden features a Gold Medal Peony Collection, Anchorage Heritage Garden demonstrating gardening practices and heirloom plants from the past, our 20-year old Herb Garden, sub-arctic rock garden, wildflower trail and more! Adventurous visitors can explore the 1.1 mile Lowenfels-Hoersting Family Nature Trail to the North Fork of Campbell Creek where salmon run and ptarmigan fly. Come photograph or paint Alaska’s flora and fauna. The main trail is ADA accessible. Visit for details about hours, guided tours, plant sales, wheelchair rental.
