Local ice cream (including birch ice cream), coffee, chaga tea, and snacks. 10-6 daily, May-September. We have been birch syrup producers in Alaska since 1990, making our syrup from the sap of the birch tree - like maple syrup, but more difficult. We are the largest producer of birch syrup in the world. Our “taste, tour, and shop” facility is located at Mile 1.1, Talkeetna Spur Rd; just a mile off the Parks Highway, about 13 miles before you reach Talkeetna. We feature a fully Alaskan experience - free, offering samples of all of our products, demonstrations and a tour of the facility with a wonderful video showing our syrup production and sap harvest in the shadow of Denali. Our gift shop features our 18 gourmet wild Alaska birch syrup and berry products, chaga, and our new birch sap beverages: Alaska Wild Birch Water - plus a selection of other fine food and functional art gifts from only Alaskan artisans. We specialize in local pottery, art tiles, wood bowls and birch bark crafts. We are a true "goods from the woods" Alaska cottage industry, and emphasize sustainable use of Alaska's forest resources. Good stewardship and conservation of our forests is essential to the health of our people and the fragile ecosystems in which we hunt, fish, and gather. Come share in our vision and passion for Alaska - we look forward to your visit!
