Alaska Zoo

The Alaska Zoo is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the visitors, residents and wildlife of Alaska since 1969. As the only zoo in Alaska, we are proud to provide homes for orphaned and injured Arctic and sub-arctic species as well as cold climate animals from other zoos. Visitors will see brown bears, eagles, Amur tigers, a polar bear, wolves, moose, harbor seals and more. We offer behind-the-scenes tour packages during summer months including a VIP experience with a catered box lunch. The zoo is located 15 minutes south of downtown Anchorage in the foothills of the beautiful Chugach mountains. We have natural trails winding through 20 acres of native boreal forest with a creek running through the back of the wooded grounds. To learn more about the Alaska Zoo and all we have to offer, go to www.alaskazoo.org and follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. We are open all year, so plan your visit for any season! Call 907-346-2133 to reach our phone directory.
