In its tenth year, Spenard JazzFest features a wide range of music events in various venues throughout Anchorage. The festival provides local musicians and artists an opportunity to perform original music and collaborate with others across multiple art forms and musical genres. For the first time, SJF will feature a celebrity Artist-in-Residence as well as several other visiting acts!

Lenny Pickett is a living legend, having toured with Tower of Power in the '70s, performed with and arranged for David Bowie, The Talking Heads, and others in the '80s, and is currently the bandleader for NBC’s Saturday Night Live!

Spenard JazzFest is an exciting, grassroots music festival that continues to grow! Spenard JazzFest begins in May with numerous house concerts before moving into the main weekend events, June 1-5. Patrons will find concerts in beloved Spenard locations like Church of Love, Blue Holloman Gallery, Spenard Farmer’s Market, and even on a few People Mover public buses! Four spaces within the 49th State Brewing Company will convert the building into a festival of performances, dance, film and fun on Saturday and Sunday. To round out the weeks of amazing music, the Anchorage International Film Festival will host Buster Keaton’s 1928 silent film, “Steamboat Bill Jr.”, with a live original score performed by the talented Miles and Karina of Seattle!

Join Spenard JazzFest and celebrate the arts and music of Anchorage!
