Solstice Celebration

The Eagle River Nature Center invites you to our annual celebration of the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. Bring your own lantern or borrow one of ours. Dress for being outdoors, and follow the lantern-lit path along the Rodak Trail to the big bonfire anytime between 6 and 8 p.m.

Bonfire and Swedish Candles below the education yurt. We’ll have s’mores and hot chocolate until we run out. Please keep an eye on your little ones.The bonfire will be quite large.

The educational yurt will be open as a warm up shelter. There are no restrooms at the bonfire or yurt.

The Beaver Viewing Deck will be candlelit and a perfect place for a photo op. Don’t forget to bring your cameras.We’re hoping to have a beautiful ice sculpture as a backdrop.

7 - 7:30 p.m.

Fire jugglers will perform on the Beaver Viewing Deck. Spectators will need to move back to designated area to watch the performance.
