Capture the blue peaks and summer greens of the northern landscape on canvas. Artists Karl Koett and David Pettibone guide you in the traditional techniques towards landscape painting in oils.
Though we hope for great weather, if we get rained out, the class will be held in the classroom yurt where our attention will turn from painting the vast landscapes to painting the hand selected specimens of flora that make up the landscape.
Supplies are not included. Participants need to bring a pre-primed canvas or board, palette, mineral spirits, linseed oil, two small jars (for mineral spirits and linseed oil), palette knife, cotton rag, brushes, easel, paints.
Minimum recommended colors for landscape painting: titanium white, ultramarine blue, chromatic red (example: napthol red), transparent red ochre or burnt sienna, yellow ochre, chromatic yellow (example: hansa yellow), sap green, chromatic green (example: permanent green light).
