A 2-day Alaska Master Naturalist Fungus workshop - each class is $50, and participants can sign up for either class or both classes.
On day one, Mycologist Christin Swearingen will talk about fungal biology and ecology, followed by Q&A, a short foray, and setting up spore prints. on day two, join Swearingen on a mushroom foray and introduction to fungi taxonomy. Learn how to use of spore prints, recognize the major classifications of fungi, and preserve fungi for herbaria or culinary use.
Registration is required. All materials included - bring water, food and gear for going outside.
This evening workshop is part of a 2-day Fungus Workshop by the Alaska Master Naturalist Program, but is open to all who are are interested.
