We will hold a short conference about Cuban music and dance with Anaya Latin Dance and special guest Esteban Isnardi. We will talk about Latin musics roots in Cuba, the influence of Cuban musicians globally, longstanding patterns and current trends in Cuban music and how dancers can recognize them and react, and how this thing popularly known as salsa is danced all around the world. Esteban is the author of Le monde autour de la salsa (El mundo a través de la salsa, The World Through Salsa), a memoire of his experiences, and Borrador Para Bailador, a book of poems about Cuban dance, among others.
During the break, enjoy live percussion and trumpet while viewing an exhibit of Esteban's work, which are selections of a series of artistic caricatures of important Cuban musicians. Cuban buffet (catered by the Writers Block Café) available for conference participants and drink ticket included.
