a one day event to rally around a new vision for Alaska music and increase the states for Alaska musicians. We see a future where Alaska is an international hub of northern music, arts, and culture. We are taking action to develop and brand Alaska music and put Alaska on the map as "a place where music comes from."
The fast-paced agenda for the day will include presentations by members of the Alaskan music community. The guest speaker lineup includes Danielle King of CD Baby (Portland, OR), Devon Leger of Hearth Music (Seattle, Minneapolis, Nashville), and other music industry professionals. Attendees will include Alaska musicians and venues, nonprofit leaders, and representatives from the film, arts, tourism, and business communities. We will host a series of workshops and action planning sessions to spawn ideas between diverse sectors to develop a new music economy in Alaska. At the end of the day, we will have in place a bold new plan to advance Alaskan music and empower Alaskan musicians.
A diverse group of musicians, partners, and stakeholders come together from around the state. The Alaska Independent Musicians Initiative, Anchorage Music Co-Op, Spenard JazzFest, Parlor in the Round, Anchorage International Film Festival... plus our friends and supporters!
