Visitors to downtown Anchorage now have a little more space to spread out. Open Streets ANC – a partnership between the Municipality of Anchorage and the Anchorage Downtown Partnership – has closed several local streets to vehicle traffic, giving pedestrians freedom to walk, shop, and socialize while practicing physical distancing and protecting public health.
Newly opened streets include G Street between 3rd and 4th Avenue, and F Street between 6th and 7th Avenue. Participating businesses include Cajun Corner, Crush, Diamond Parking, Easy Park, Flattop Pizza & Pool, Humpy’s Great Alaskan Alehouse, Lumen Design LLC., Sevigny Studio, SubZero, SteamDot Cafe, Trapper Jacks, Urban Greens, and Williwaw Social.
