Mountain High Pizza Pie is on Main Street in Talkeetna, Alaska. Our menu is a collaboration of authentic family recipes made with only the freshest ingredients. We take pride in creating our own sauces, meats, bread, and dough daily to develop a distinctive combination of pizzas, flatbreads, salads, and specialty items. Vegetables and herbs from our garden are used to create unique soups and specials. Locally harvested, in season ingredients, like fiddlehead ferns, rhubarb, and salmon, are utilized to create one of a kind dishes that can't be found anywhere else! Our beer garden is an outdoor deck with seating for 200, not to mention inside seating for year round fun. With a bar and seating outside, you get the opportunity to work outdoors while overlooking Main Street. We serve a variety of rotating local craft beers & micro-brews. All summer we are proud to host free, live music on our patio to provide a lively yet laid -back experience for customers and employees alike. Our crew is comprised of year-round locals, but we rely heavily on our “seasonal individuals” -- adventurous individuals drawn to the magic of Talkeetna, its history, great beer, and incredible food!

Duties & Responsibilities: Prep and maintain a stocked station before, during and at end of your shift Prepare each dish on our menu using our provided recipes Memorize and employ our serving portion sizes and all basic meal prep procedures Maintain and follow proper food handling, safety and sanitation procedures – all phases of food production and service including storage, rotation, preparation, recipe adherence, cooking methods, plate presentation, quality, service and production time adherence Evaluate finished products for appearance, taste, smell and texture according to internal specifications Work with team of cooks to do portion prep work for other shifts when needed Performs shift opening and closing duties as assigned, including cleaning cutting boards, fryers, equipment and floors Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, cooking areas, individual station, kitchen equipment and food storage areas, reporting any kitchen equipment or maintenance issues to the manager on duty Follow safety guidelines and use caution in proper lifting techniques, handling knives and operating machinery Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor Demonstrate a high level of professional attitude towards co-workers and general public Ability to work with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment Efficient time management Adhere to company handbook policies Qualifications/Skills Required: Experience in cooking in a high-volume, fast-paced establishment preferred Knowledge of cooking procedures, kitchen equipment and safety rules for kitchen and equipment Excellent verbal communication and organization skills Professional appearance Organizational skills with strong attention to detail Efficient at multitasking Must be a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment Flexible and adaptable to quickly changing demands Ability to maintain composure under stress Team player: Ability to work well with all managers and co-workers Ability to work on your feet for eight hours or more a day Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds at a time on a regular basis Obtain a State of Alaska Food Handler’s Card

Benefits may include: Employee housing - we offer free housing for full-time employees. Available to those that work with us full time (32-40 hours per week) for the entire season (May 15-Sept 15).
