March hotel revenue was up more than 27 percent year over year, as double-digit increases in both demand and rate combined for one of the best March performances on record. March demand was up 12.5 percent, while rate rose more than 13 percent compared to 2018.

The year is off to a strong start. The first quarter of 2019 was solid with Rate and occupancy increasing in all three months. While each month in the first quarter neared monthly records for hotel revenue in January, February and March, it's worth remembering that the first quarter of the year historically accounts for less than 15 percent of annual hotel revenue.
