Great Alaskan Holidays, Alaska’s largest RV rental, sales, and service business headquartered in Anchorage, is celebrating its 32nd year anniversary in 2017. Since 1985 Daryl Bennett, owner and president of Great Alaskan Holidays, has grown the firm from a five motorhome rental company to the largest of its kind in Alaska, currently with a 27,000-square foot facility on 8 acres of land, and hundreds of RV’s and multiple floorplans available for rent or sale.
Today, Great Alaskan Holidays relies on consistent innovations to remain an industry leader. The company was the first to offer high quality amenities such as hotel-quality linens and TV/DVD players in every coach, and services such as free cleaning, dumping and flushing of holding tanks. They went on to be the very first provider of toll free phone numbers for reservations and technical service, fleet-wide generators, rooftop air conditioners, two coach batteries, microwaves, freshen-up services, slide-out rooms in every coach, and complimentary airport shuttle services. Continuing to differentiate, the company now boasts the largest selection of late-model, company-owned slide-out and conventional Class ‘C’ motorhomes, and is the only dealer with brand new Class ‘A’ units on site.
Awarded 9 years in a row the Winnebago Circle of Excellence Award, Great Alaskan Holidays is also one of only three Alaskan firms to be awarded the prestigious status of Ford® Warranty Station for the proper care and maintenance of their motorhomes (maintained to this day), and the first to become an Onan® Warranty Station for the proper care and maintenance of their motorhome generators. The company set the standard with their 41-point maintenance and performance evaluation before each rental, and their 117-point maintenance and safety inspections prior to coaches transitioning to their sales fleet. Great Alaskan Holiday motorhomes are also built to strict standards with over 75 upgrades and custom features designed specifically for Alaska.
“Any great company who has been successful in business for 32 years knows that exceptional customer service is the primary driver behind that longevity,” says Bob Johnson, the firm’s Director of Marketing. “From our local customers and those traveling out of the Lower 48 and abroad, to all our valued employees, collaboration and innovation are catalysts to the level of service we intend on providing for years to come.”
