The Alaska Travel Industry Association (ATIA) - the leading statewide association for travel and tourism in Alaska – is seeking a dynamic storyteller and content strategist, to create and manage content marketing across multiple platform and formats. The ATIA Digital Content Manager is a self-motivated individual with previous experience in digital content management, writing and editing for the web and digital outlets, graphic design, and site management.

Job responsibilities

The digital content manager will be responsible for developing ATIA’s messages and voice for all aspects of our online presence. In addition to writing, editing, and proofreading site content, this person will also work closely with the technical team to maintain site standards with regard to new development. Your duties will also include sharing content across digital channels to raise brand awareness and monitoring web traffic and metrics to identify best practices. We know you will be successful in your job if you are able to show continual customer nurturing and retention through storytelling, as well as the increase in new prospects, website traffic, all through the consistent development and deployment of content. Specifically, the digital content manager will:

  • Create, develop, and manage engaging content for the association’s web presence (requires working with content management software) including both and

  • Manage the association’s email marketing efforts, including newsletters, automated workflows.

  • Coordinate digital and web projects across staff and contractor teams.

  • Maintain a consistent look and feel throughout all web properties and digital assets.

  • Manage ATIA’s social media for community engagement and long-term content promotion.

  • Maintain and develop the master content calendar for all web properties and digital assets.

  • Optimize content according to SEO.

  • Analyze website traffic and users’ engagement metrics.

  • Ensure compliance with law (e.g. copyright and data protection).

  • Stay up-to-date with developments and generate new ideas to draw audience’s attention.


  • Able show at least 3 years of experience in a content manager role

  • Technical knowledge of HTML and web publishing

  • Knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics

  • Familiarity with social media

  • Excellent writing skills (English)

  • Obsessive attention to detail

  • Organizational and time-management skills

  • A degree in Journalism, Marketing, or a related field

Salary and Position

This is a regular, full-time, and exempt position. This position reports to the Vice President.

Salary: DOE.

Location: Anchorage, AK at the ATIA building or working remotely (as appropriate).
