December hotel performance was stable compared to 2018. December 2019 saw a slight improvement in monthly revenue, up less than 1% – or within $100,000 – year over year. Demand for the month ticked up slightly compared to 2018. December typically accounts for about 5% of annual hotel revenue for the community.
Anchorage closes the books on 2019 with annual gains in ADR, demand, RevPAR, and revenue. 2019 hotel revenue totaled more than $301 million, up 14% compared to 2018, with gains for both demand and rate broadly throughout the year. Initial estimates put the municipal bed tax collections at $31.2 million.
