Chad Valentine of Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge has been recognized as Maintenance Manager of the Year by the Alaska Hotel and Lodging Association at the annual Stars of the Industry event, Jan. 30, 2016. This award is open to any Alaska hospitality employees and is voted on by peers in the industry.  

Located just minutes from town, the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge is open seasonally from May to September. The lodge has 212 guest rooms, three meetings rooms, two dining facilities, a gift shop, and unsurpassed views of Denali and the Alaska Range.

Chad is a lifelong Alaskan and 48 year resident of Talkeetna, he formerly worked as a fly fishing guide for over 25 years.  During that time he managed a lodge, and eventually he and his wife Miriam built and operated their own lodge on the Susitna River.  Chad came to the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge in the spring of 2007 and currently, along with his year round staff, manages all maintenance/engineering and landscape aspects at the lodge.
