Soft, white carpet covers the galleries in Anchorage Museum’s Snow Flyers exhibition, like a blanket of snow. The exhibit displays the creativity of people in the north to adapt for winter survival and recreation. The celebration of northern design focuses on the variety of ways we travel across snow – from prototypes to recent developments. Sleds, skis, snowshoes, snowboards, and snowmachines are just some of the inventions that demonstrate human ingenuity. The collections on display involved tremendous community support and collaboration. Contributors include Visit Anchorage members Alaska Aviation Museum, Alyeska Resort, Arctic Cycles, Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum, and SkiAK.

Snow Flyers is on view through April 5, 2020.  Visit the Anchorage Museum website for more information.
