Alyeska Resort Promotes Executive Chef Jason Porter to Director of Food and Beverage Operations

Alyeska Resort is pleased to announce the promotion of Executive Chef Jason Porter to Food and Beverage Director. This key position within the organization oversees all staffing requirements, menu creation, food costing and restaurant operations at all seven of Alyeska’s food and beverage outlets. Jason Porter has been with Alyeska Resort for over a decade. He opened and created the menu for the Aurora Bar and Grill prior to being elevated to Executive Chef at our award winning Seven Glaciers Restaurant. For several years since, he has served as Resort Executive Chef overseeing the operations of all our restaurants. John Byrne, Owner of Alyeska Resort adds, “Jason and I have worked closely on the development of the menus at each of our resort outlets over the years. His passion for food quality and flavor is unsurpassed.”

Chef Jason Porter has had a lifelong pursuit of the culinary arts -- first declaring his dream of becoming a Chef at the young age of 10. He began his culinary studies while serving four years in the Navy and then continued on to study Hotel Restaurant Management at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, California. Jason then went on to work at AAA Five Diamond Restaurants, including Picasso at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, before joining Alyeska’s team in 2007.
