The Bridge Is Back!
The beautifully unique, covered bridge restaurant spanning Ship Creek, Anchorage’s wild salmon waterway, reopened summer 2011.“The Bridge Seafood” is now under the expert management of local celebrity chef and successful restaurateur, Al Levinsohn. The Bridge Seafood dining experience begins with each day’s bounty on display fish market style, and warm, rustic sourdough rolls served with a house recipe, Smoke Sockeye Salmon Spread. Beverage options include an extensive list of Alaska craft beers, wines or fresh squeezed lemonade. A raw bar serves up Alaska spot shrimp from Prince William Sound, Bering Sea crab, Kachemak Bay oysters, mussels and clams.
Salads are prepared from fresh, locally sourced produce grown in the nearby Matanuska Valley. Entrees are served family style and include Bridge Seafood’s special recipe for always fresh and hot off the grill, wild Alaska salmon. Land lovers will enjoy a choice cut of boneless rib eye steak, grilled to order and served with a decadent red wine sauce. Self-serve sides and accompaniments include herb roasted potatoes, garden rice pilaf, locally grown vegetables in season and Alaska seafood chowder. Matanuska Valley Rhubarb and Wild Berry Crisp served warm with vanilla ice cream tops off the menu at this delectable new venue.
Whale's Tail Goes High-Tech
The Whale’s Tail, one of the Captain Cook Hotel’s in-house restaurants, has reopened with an all new menu and an innovative wine dispensing machine. The Enomatic system allows guests to select and pour their own wine from an expansive selection of bottles.
A Revolving Sushi Bar
Browse through the menu in the most visual way possible. Revolving Sushi Bar OEC opened in Anchorage’s Spenard neighborhood. The restaurant shares a shopping complex with local favorites Title Wave Books and Middle Way Café. Watch plates parade past with hundreds of available options, from the spicy salmon sushi to the Mount McKinley special roll.
Hott Stixx Expands to Downtown
The popular south Anchorage eatery, Hott Stixx, brings a delightful twist on Asian-fusion cuisine to downtown, with a great deal wild Alaska seafood and locally sourced produce on the menu.Their second location on Fourth Avenue serves up wonderfully eclectic fare such as Spicy Thai Peanut Wings, Reindeer Philly Dog and Grilled King Crab.
Slippery Salmon Touts “A Heck Of A Deck.”
Ramada Anchorage Downtown recently opened the Slippery Salmon Bar and Grill, where patrons can sip beverages from a full service bar, while enjoying expansive views of Cook Inlet and Mount Susitna. Featured dishes pair nicely with a variety of homebrews, including buffalo wings, quality pizza, and Boar’s Head soups and sandwiches made with locally baked bread.
