Summer days stretch long, with massive flower blooming in the heart of the city, monster salmon surging up nearby streams and live music filling the air. During winter, downtown Anchorage dazzles with thousands of lights and the excitement of activities like Anchorage Fur Rendezvous and the ceremonial start of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race® reverberates throughout the entire city.

Explore the day away then close with an exquisite meal.
Seymour of Anchorage
As Anchorage's moose mascot and goodwill ambassador, Seymour of Anchorage shares the city's Big Wild Life with visitors and locals alike. Seymour made his first appearance in 1981 as part a community pride campaign. Nowadays, you'll find Seymour supporting the visitor industry at community events. Seymour and the rest of the "Critter Chorus Line" - a crew comprised of a beaver, eagle, ram and brown bear - are available to make appearances at special community events and perform some dance moves set to the Anchorage Big Wild Life Jingle™. Call the Visit Anchorage offices at (907) 276-4118 for details.
Convention Welcome Signs
These signs welcome large conventions by name in member businesses. They are mailed to downtown members who request them. Members place the signage in their business windows to encourage convention delegates to patronize their businesses.
