A Seafaring Adventure

Whales breaching in the distance, porpoises swimming adjacent to the ship, black bear or deer roaming the scattered beaches along the never-ending coastline, and eagles soaring overhead are just a few of the sights that Alaska cruise passengers will enjoy enroute through the famous Inside Passage to Southcentral Alaska. Several cruise lines offer excursions May through September, docking in nearby Whittier or Seward.

Bring your car, your recreational vehicle, or even your boat to Alaska on the Alaska Marine Highway. The state’s ferry system runs year-round with stops in Valdez, Whittier, and Homer, Alaska, all of which are connected to Anchorage by road, air and railroad.

Traverse a Rugged Landscape

The scenic Alaska Highway, or ALCAN Highway, links Alaska with Canada and the contiguous United States. It is fully paved and services are available along the route year-round. The journey is an adventure in itself, whether travelling by car, motorhome, or with a charter or motorcoach tour.
