This is a family-oriented multicultural event with free admission for all participants.  During our event, you have the opportunity to learn more about historical African Americans and local African American businesses as well as spending a day of entertainment with others of our communities. Some of our plans are to make these days as enjoyable and educational as possible without taking away from the true meaning of the Juneteenth Celebration.

There will be various forms of live entertainment on each day with free food provided for children age 2-18 as well as drinks and snacks. Some traditional games will be played for both children and adults. Feel free to bring out a blanket and picnic lunch for yourself and to share with others to help make this a true weekend of unity in the community.

We look forward to seeing you there and sharing our heritage with one another. Our ancestors gathered to give thanks for their freedom and celebrated with food, music and games, as well as in remembrance of how they were able to go through all they had to. Help us to continue this tradition and share your remembrance of African American history here in Alaska with those attending the celebration.
