If you’re not planning to participate in the parade, find a spot to enjoy the view from sidewalks along the route. The course winds through downtown Anchorage ending at the Park Strip. The parade features flamboyant floats and numerous groups of supporters, often dressed in colorful costumes.
Next stop is Pride on the Park Strip, a full day festival in downtown Anchorage with activities for the entire family. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and soak in the sun and ambiance. At the hub is Center Stage where performances, live music and speeches take place. Hungry? Food stands are plentiful. Find a variety of merchandise and information at vendor and event sponsor booths. Face painting and a variety of kids’ games round out the day’s offerings.
