1. Find solitude
Even today, there’s an average of almost one-square-mile per Alaskan. That means plenty of peaceful spaces untouched by humans.
2. Call your own shots
You’re out on your own, so there’s nothing off-limits. Switch plans without notice, or add something new when the mood strikes you. There’s no consulting, no consensus needed!
3. Get the last bite
That was tasty, but there's one delicious morsel left on the plate. A table for one means no bargaining, no pleading, no look-over-there misdirection. Just savor every bite.
4. Still have plenty of help
Not sure how to ice climb? Need some directions? Alaskans are a friendly bunch, and experienced guides and tour operators can show you how to take on any Alaska adventure!
5. Get the last ticket
Scoop up that single seat in the third row of the performance. The show may be almost sold out, but you can snag the one remaining space in a prime spot!
6. Make new friends
There are tons of opportunities to join groups for guided hikes, flightseeing trips and more. Events and celebrations mean plenty of opportunities to get swept away in the camaraderie of a crowd. No need for a special occasion though, join a communal table at a restaurant, or belly up to the bar with locals and visitors alike.
7. Make them jealous
When you get home, show off your Alaska photos and share your epic tales. Odds are next time you visit Alaska, you won’t be traveling alone!
