Pepsi Express Delivers Fans to the Opening Ceremony of the Chevrolet U.S. Alpine Championships in Girdwood

Alyeska Resort is offering four complimentary shuttles, the “Pepsi Express,” for the public to commute to and from the Opening Ceremony of the Chevrolet U.S. Alpine Championships, this Friday, March 19.

The Pepsi Express will pick-up fans from Anchorage at the Costco Wholesale parking lot on Dimond Boulevard. The shuttles will depart from Anchorage at 6:00 p.m., and passengers are encouraged to arrive early as the complimentary shuttles will only be available to the first 200 people.

“We want everyone to come out to Girdwood and celebrate, so we’re sending the Pepsi Express to bring them down,” said Todd Clarke, Mountain Marketing and Special Events Director for Alyeska Resort. “It’s going to be a family fun atmosphere and there is no reason for you to miss it.”

The Opening Ceremony to this championship event highlights the alpine athletes and Alaska Native cultures and will feature a performance by Pamyua, Miracle Drummers and Dancers, fireworks, an athlete parade, and the Chevrolet Athlete of the Year award presentation. The Opening Ceremony is free to the public and will begin at 7:00 p.m., mountainside of the Daylodge of Alyeska Resort.

Two shuttles are scheduled to return to Anchorage, leaving Girdwood at 10:00 p.m., and the remaining two shuttles will depart Girdwood at 11:00 p.m.
